Interning at AWR

AWR offers year round opportunities for students to work on key issues shaping the Wild Rockies Bioregion. Interns work within the programs of AWR, and on a personal project.

Recent intern projects include:

  • Samsara Chapman is currently working on a comment analysis project related to grizzly bear restoration in the Salmon-Selway ecosystem.
  • Deb Kmon submitted numerous comments on proposed timber sales and wrote an article about proposed changes to the National Forest Management Act (NFMA), in AWR's quarterly journal, the Wild Rockies Networker.
  • Nick Tuff, recently published a two page article on NREPA in Fly Fisherman magazine.
  • Jeanne Hum worked on an extended internship and produced vital outreach work in support of grizzly bear reintroduction.
  • Rachel Gooen produced the layout for The Citizens Guide to Grizzly Bear Recovery in the Greater Salmon-Selway Ecosystem, a 12 page brochure.

Please contact Bob Clark at AWR if you have questions about internships at AWR, or to request an application. Please note: when applying, send a printed resume to AWR... do not send as an attachment to e-mail.

April '99: AWR's Ecosystem Defense Program is actively in search of one or more intern assistants with either legal or scientific background, or a strong interest in either of these areas. EcoDefense includes writing comments on proposed National Forest timber sales and other development projects. Please contact Ecosystem Defense Program Director, Mike Wood.
