Cold Mountain, Cold Rivers is a grassroots environmental and human rights organization working to promote awareness of environmental and human rights issues and to encourage citizen participation through education, advocacy and video support. Since our founding in 1990, CMCR has been working to protect those voices marginalized by the mainstream media.


Current Projects:

The Next Real Revolution
The world has seen a Tool Making Revolution, followed by an Agricultural Revolution, followed by an Industrial Revolution. These were real revolutions, making mere political revolutions like Russia's Bolshevik, America's Thatcher-Reagan, and Iran's Khomeini revolutions pale to relative insignificance.

The Rocky Mountain Front Project

One of the founding objectives of CMCR was to protect the eastern edge of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, or the Rocky Mountain Front, against oil and gas development. Our first film project involved a collaboration between environmentalists and Blackfeet tribal members to expose the oil and gas industry's plans to drill in the Badger-Two Medicine...
