MOSCOW, IDAHO - A dozen environmental activists will spend 7 to 20 days in jail for the way they protested logging and roadbuilding in a central Idaho forest area.
U.S. District Judge Mikel Williams on Thursday sentenced 10 people who went into a closed area to protest a timber sale to 7 days in jail with fines of $500 each. Sarah Wilner was fined $500 and sentenced to 20 days in jail and Jill Ondrey was sentenced to 15 days and a $1,000 fine.
